PHILIPPINES

stamps of the Philippines 1899-1906

No stamps had been produced during the time the post office of San Francisco was responsible. All US stamps, envelopes and postal cards were valid.

When the country became postally independent (w.e.f. May 1st., 1899) stamps of the US with overprint  PHILIPPINES had been produced and were issued on the following days:

 

  1. serie:

  • postage stamps 1899-6-30
  • postage due stamps 1899-8-16
  • additional postage stamps 1899-8-30
  • postage stamps 1901-8-30
  • additional postage due stamps 1901-8-31
  • special delivery stamp 1901-10-15
(all the original stamps are issues of the US from 1894, 1895 and 1898)

  1. serie:

  • postage stamps 1903-9-20
  • additional postage stamps 1904-1-4
  • additional postage stamps 1904-11-1
(all the original stamps are issues of the US from 1902 and 1903)

first issue under own postal responsibility 1906-9-8
